Treble Promotion

Bridgend Ladies had a record breaking 2025/26 season with all three squads gaining promotion, something that hasn't happened before in the South Wales League. Our 1st and 2nd XI squads both topped their respective divisions, whilst our 3rd XI came second, in only their second year.

Indoor Hockey Champions

BLHC competed in the South Wales Indoor Hockey League during December becoming the SWHIL Women's Challenge Division Winners. Then in January they became Hoci Cymru's Indoor Women's Challenge Champions.

Playing for Wales

Numerous BLHC players have been selected to play for Wales for their respective masters age groups, including the history making O70s squad. We are so proud of all of our players who play for the Dragon. To find out about the latest tournaments please see our social media pages.

'Nasties' to the Finals

For the first time ever in Purple Nasties history, we made it through to the finals of the Royber Charity Day. Although we couldn't quite beat Penarth to take the trophy we were so happy to come a respectable 2nd place

County Championships

We are so proud of our youth players who played for the South Coast County in the U15s and U17s County Championships. The U17s came away with a bronze medal from a winning shuffle from Bridgend Ladies player Tegan. Well done to Sophie for captaining the team. Several players were subsequetnly selected to play for the regional squads. Well done all.

Semi-finals

Our 3rd XI made it to the 4th/5th League Cup Semifinals against Gwent Hockey Club 4th XI. It was all level at the final whistle taking it to flicks. Unfortuantely, they narrowly missed a place in the finals by one goal.

Supporting Pride

In June Bridgend Ladies took park in Cardiff Pride. Bridgend Ladies is proud to support Pride Month every June, a reminder that everyone deserves to play sport with dignity, safety and joy.

League Finalists

Our players took part in the South Wales Mixed Hockey League this summer in Divisions 1, 2 and 3 alongside Bridgend Hockey Club. All three teams got to the semifinals in their respective divisions, however, the B team got to the final of Division 2. Although they were beaten by Penarth, they showed great resilence on the pitch to the final whistle.

Summer 7s

We have taken part in the Summer 7s league up in Ystrad Mynach for eight weeks again this summer. It has been great experience for our younger players. Many thanks to the team at Sue Noakes for hosting it each week.

Mayor's Visit

Huw David Mayor of Bridgend popped along to our training session in which we launced our CGI sponsored traning tops.

Youth Hockey Days

BLHC have hosted several youth hockey days to introduce young players to hockey. It was great to see the sun shinning on the last event and some fantastic skills on the pitch.

Charity

BLHC likes to take every opportunity to support charity events. Over the years we have raised money for Children in Need (wearing odd socks, Pudsey ears etc), Cancer Research, hosting the Gareth Watkins Memorial Day in aid of Macmillan Cancer support and so much more.
